You know what, it has been removed. I wonder why?
Perhaps Becky can chime in and clarify because I wasn't aware of it until you mentioned it!

Nah, never was much of a drinker. :) Only been drunk once in my life - at my bachelor party. Eeeesh.

Hi Guys,

Sorry about that! I was supposed to post a notice and I completely forgot! We've temporarily disabled private messaging in preparation for a forum upgrade we'll be doing. Should only be down for a few weeks!

Again, my apologies for the lack of advance notice! (Thanks for the heads up on this thread karen! :-)

That's too bad... I've got (or I had) WD's phone number stored in there. :(

I'm sorry Mike -- I didn't realize the archives would be inaccessible (though just the sending mechanism would be disabled). I checked with our developer and she said the entries are all still in the database. We'll be reactivating in a few weeks, but if you need something in the meantime e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll see if we can pull it out for you.

Again, VERY sorry for this guys! Didn't realize the havoc it would create!

I'll check that out! I know the main reason we're upgrading is simply because the latest version of the forum was written to use resources better, so it's really for overall performance, but I'll see what kind of upgrades it has and see if I can get those worked in as well. If there's a particular features of other forums that you guys would really like to see here, lemme know -- we might be able to pull it off if the new version has that possibility. I'll definitely check into the search -- HATE when seaches don't work right, and it sounds like this one isn't.

Thanks!

-- Becky :-)

BTW -- Big public apologies to Karen and Andy. I very much should have told them about the PM shut down before it happened. Sorry guys!!! :-)

Is there any possible way that you would consider moving to a more standard forum solution? Because, I'll be honest with ya... I love the people here, but I hate the forum interface and functionality. It doesn't hold a candle to most other sites that use existing forum apps.

I totally agree with TranscenderMichael on this. There are several other forum software packages that are easier to use, and some are even free. There is phpBB for free or vBulletin if you want a very reasonably priced solution.
