While I was surfing the net, I could well understand that an IT certified professional earns much more than a non certified professional. This has prompted me to go for some certifications. I was much puzzled which to opt for. But now I have decided to go for MCDBA cert exam 70-228.
Can any one just help me?

In what regards? Do you have programming experience? Are you just starting out in the IT world? Certification by themselves mean nothing but would give you a slight edge over someone how doesn't have any real world experience but someone with real world experience (say 2 or more years) will have an advantage over someone who only has a certification. There are lots of factors involved, don't believe everything you read into salary surveys. 99.99% of those I've seen don't accurately reflect diddly.
The 70-228 is one of 4 exams you'll need for the MCDBA on the Windows 2000 track which is alright (in my opinion) since several companies will probably remain on that level and then you can go on to the 2005 SQL track. But you should make sure you've explored all of it by researching the SQL tracks here at Microsoft
However, this is just an educated guess since you haven't really told us anything about yourself (IT career/experience and previous testing exposure). There shouldn't be any confusion really if you already have experience in programming.
