Redmond Channel Partner Magazine Wins Neal Award
The editorial staff of Redmond Channel Partner magazine won the Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Award in the category of Best Start-up Publication

IRVINE, Calif. March 28, 2006 -- The Neal Awards Competition, held by American Business Media, is in its 52nd year. This year's judging panel, chaired by Dow Jones MarketWatch columnist Marshall Loeb, selected the 32 winners from 101 finalists out of an original 1,250 entries. Awards were handed out at a ceremony at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City on March 23.

Redmond Channel Partner magazine, a 101communications publication, is the only independent publication focused on the Microsoft partner community of resellers, integrators and independent software vendors. 101communications published three issues of Redmond Channel Partner in 2005 starting in July. The magazine is now monthly.

"The Redmond Media Group editorial team proved itself in October 2004 when it created the hugely successful Redmond magazine, aimed at IT professionals. Redmond Channel Partner (RCP), aimed at those selling Microsoft products, is a natural extension of the Redmond brand," said Doug Barney, editorial director of the Redmond Media Group. "The RCP team of artists, writers and editors, designed and built a family of products, print, Web and newsletters, that fully support the needs of the Microsoft partner community."

"I can't imagine a better boost for the publication in its first year," said Scott Bekker, editor in chief of Redmond Channel Partner magazine. "This recognition of editorial quality confirms our sense that this publication is headed in the right direction. We're using last year's efforts as a springboard -- we're already coming out more frequently, adding staff and reaching more readers every month as we expand our coverage of the Microsoft partner community. As we grow, we'll remain tightly focused on meeting our readers' specialized needs."

Other editorial staff joining Barney and Bekker in accepting the award in New York were Executive Editor Anne Stuart, Reviews Editor Lafe Low, Senior Editor Lee Pender and Art Director Scott Shultz. Publisher Henry Allain and Associate Publisher Matt Morollo also attended the event.
