Web Design World Seattle Celebrates 10th Anniversary

June 17, 2008, Chatsworth, CA -- The World Wide Web now encompasses everything from social networking to mobile phones, and it's all on the agenda at Web Design World Seattle, taking place from July 21-23 at the Westin Seattle. Now in its tenth year, Web Design World is the industry's longest-running Web conference, attracting top designers and developers from around the world to learn the latest development and design techniques and tools.

"Our conference and our attendees have helped the Web evolve from static pages to the kinds of exciting sites we see today," said Jim Heid, who has served as Conference Chair for over thirty Web Design World events. "From our work with the Web Standards Project ten years ago to our coverage of social networking and mashups today, we're proud to have been a part of this incredible evolution."

Web Design World Seattle kicks off with a keynote address by Heather Champ, Community Manager of the wildly popular Flickr photo-sharing site and Lance Loveday will engage attendees with the second keynote: Web Design for ROI: How Design Impacts Effectiveness. Then come dozens of practical, how-to sessions on every aspect of modern Web design. Attendees will learn the CSS and JavaScript development techniques that drive today's hottest "Web 2.0" sites. Other sessions explore the management and strategy angles of Web development, with sessions on effective e-commerce design, search engine optimization, blogging, and social networking.

Delivering this expertise is the most experienced faculty in the industry, including senior engineer, Nate Koechley from Yahoo! and foremost usability researchers, such as Jared Spool. Microsoft will also be on-hand to demonstrate the latest versions of its Silverlight technology.

Attendees will go mobile on day three with in-depth workshops on iPhone, mobile Web development and Adobe Systems' latest technologies and tools, from Flex and Adobe Media Player to Photoshop and Dreamweaver and how-to advice on integrating the latest CS3applications into the web design workflow. Attendees will also get exclusive sneak previews of forthcoming Adobe releases.

The Westin Seattle, site of this year's conference, is the front door to downtown shopping, attractions, dining and the vibrant theater district. An ideal urban retreat, the hotel is just steps away from the Washington State Convention Center, Pike Place Market and the Space Needle.

Registration for Web Design World Seattle is now open, with complete program information available online at http://webdesignworld.com/2008/seattle.
