6/26/2012 -- July 8 marks the last day to take CompTIA certification exams (A+, Network+, Security+, et cetera) at Prometric testing centers. The exams are currently available at both Pearson VUE and Prometric centers, but will be exclusive to VUE starting on July 9.

CompTIA and the Cloud Speaking of CompTIA, the company is currently looking for subject-matter experts (SMEs) to help with creating a cloud and virtualization certification to help with a Cloud+ exam. SMEs are needed between Aug. 24 and 26 to attend a job task analysis (JTA) workshop. Details on what it entails can be found here.
Microsoft Cloud Exams Go Live Two of the Microsoft cloud exams have now gone live. Exam 70-246 (Monitoring and Operating a Private Cloud with System Center 2012) and 70-247 (Configuring and Deploying a Private Cloud with System Center 2012) are now available for registration through Prometric testing centers and cost $150 per try.
The objectives for 70-246 can be found here and those for 70-247 are available here. Both count toward the MCTS certification.
Cisco CCIE Security Written and Lab Exams in Refresh The Cisco CCIE Security exams -- both the written and the lab exam -- are being refreshed (this is version 4.0). Those wanting to try their hands at the new exams can do so beginning Nov. 19. The written exam topics can be found here and it consists of between 90 and 110 questions, which must be answered within two hours. The lab exam topics can be found here and require mastery of both IPv4 and IPv6.
Version 3.0 of both exams is still available and the lab cost is $1,500, while the written exam is available through all VUE testing centers.
